A Spring Wedding in Derbyshire
A couple of times every year, me and my good pal, Simon (of Bunney Photography) shoot a handful of weddings together. This Spring wedding in Derbyshire was one of those weddings.
I met Alan at Makeney Hall where he’d spent the morning getting ready, along with his groomsmen and a few members of his family. As soon as collars were sorted, ties were tied and button holes attached, it was off to Shottle.

Wedding Day Weather
Being a wedding photographer in England, it’s kinda hard to avoid talking about the weather. Mainly because it’s so sodding unpredictable! No month is safe from the dreaded wash-out! So whenever you wake up on a Saturday morning and see blue skies, it’s a relief. And that’s what we had today, which is great because the views from the grounds of Shottle Hall are fantastic.
We had a great day and everyone treated us like we were part of the gang. Some of my personal highlights were a large beetle stealing the show during the ceremony, some great reactions from people who’d had their caricature done, and kids going nuts on the synthetic lawn in the evening.
