Doveridge Garden Wedding

A Sunny Garden Wedding in Doveridge, Derbyshire

On a sunny Saturday in August last year, Hannah & Matt got married in front of the people who mean the most to them in the world! The whole day took place in and around Doveridge in Derbyshire, which was Hannah’s childhood home. Her parent’s did an absolutely incredible job of turning their gorgeous garden into the perfect reception venue! Complete with hay bales, tipi, woodland walk, and a magical story spot for the kids, I’m so chuffed they asked me to be their Doveridge wedding photographer!

We started the day off at their home, and whilst I was with Hannah and the bridesmaids capturing all the moments of excitement and anticipation, there was a flurry of activity outside as it was all hands on deck getting the garden ready for the celebrations.

A short drive away I found Matt greeting their family and friends into St Cuthbert’s church, which had been Hannah’s local church all through her childhood. Also, it was Matt’s dad who performed the ceremony! I love it when couples choose venues that they have some sort of relationship with. I think it gives a little something extra to the day and the memories they’ll make.

After a joyous, and musical wedding ceremony, everyone gathered outside the church gate for what is possibly my favourite confetti moment of 2018! Just look at their faces!!

Back at the old homestead, Hannah’s parent’s hard work paid off, with interest! Everyone had such a fantastic time! Even her dad’s story time in the woods (an event put on for the kids) had a strong grown-up presence. Me included! And the whole thing was rounded off with the happy couple hitting the open mic area and giving their guests a musical performance.

So that was that. A day that couldn’t have reflected this wonderful couple any more if it tried! Hannah, Matt, thank you guys so much for inviting me to take photos at your wedding. I hope this blog post gives you a lovely little reminder of the day.
