Salisbury Cathedral Wedding

Beautiful & Stylish Wedding at Salisbury Cathedral & School
She’s Australian, he’s English, and together they created a spectacular day for their friends & family to celebrate the start of their marriage! Will was born in Salisbury, and his family still live there, so it was clear that the day was going to be extra special to them when they told me they were having a Salisbury Cathedral wedding. It’s not everyday as a photographer that you get to photograph somewhere as well-known as this, so it was kind of a big day for me, too. Below are a few highlights that tell the story of this big, funny, love-filled, family-friendly, smile-a-minute, glorious celebration of this special pair’s wedding day.
Wedding Preparations in Salisbury, Wiltshire
On the morning of a wedding, there’s usually two locations where either side of the couple are doing their thing. Occasionally, couples will go for two photographers to capture both sides of this part of the day, but today I was flying solo. Which meant spending the morning with Millie and her Aussie family, who had made the long flight over, and were spending the morning at the rather idyllic Bridge Farm in Salisbury. Seriously, if you’re getting married anywhere near here in the Summer, book this place to get ready at. The lovely garden with the stream running through it is like something out of a movie!
Getting Married at Salisbury Cathederal
After getting ready at his parents house, Will and his groomsmen made it over to the cathedral, and I joined them there a little before the arrival of the bride. It’s everything you’d expect from one of the country’s most famous cathedrals, and I have to admit, I did feel a little bit of the celeb with all the tourists peering in through the closed gates that keep the wedding ceremony off limits.
Wedding Reception at Salisbury Cathedral School
The reception was a few minutes walk away, in the grounds of Salisbury Cathedral School. Leaving the cathedral through the cloisters, we soon found ourselves gazing at a lovely marquee on the lawn of the school. With the warm weather and blue skies, they couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting to kick back and enjoy some relaxing time celebrating with those who mean the most to them.
