Signing the register. It might not be the most exciting part of the day, but it’s what makes your marriage legal, so that in itself is pretty exciting. Traditionally, this part of the day has been where the vicar or registrar calls over the photographer once you’ve done the real signing and poses you holding a pen and forcing a smile to the camera. Well, I have some news for you…it doesn’t have to be like that! Opinions may differ on this, but from what I can gather, as long as the register isn’t legible in the photographs then it’s fine to take during the actual signing, which gives you wonderful images like this one of Natalie and Alex, of the moment they actually signed. A much nicer moment that sitting stiffly behind the table grinning at me. Hurrah!
