A Beautiful Wedding at Skipwith Hall in Yorkshire

Tori and Neil asked me to be their Skipwith Hall wedding photographer near Escrick in Yorkshire. A fantastic venue, and has only recently opened up it’s grounds for weddings. They were married at nearby St Helen’s church before driving over to Skipwith for a perfect English garden wedding reception.

Bridal Prep at Mum’s House

I arrived at Tori’s mum’s house late that morning to capture the moments during the bridal prep. It’s a part of the day that I always enjoy and think is really important to include in the coverage. It’s a great way to start the story of the wedding, and is a wonderful thing for the bride’s partner to look back on after the wedding. Tori and her bridesmaids relaxed and laughed away the morning, before being treated to a pretty lavish spread of food. Got to keep your energy up, right?

English Garden Reception

Following the church ceremony, it was over to Skipwith Hall for the reception. The grounds are stunning, and as we walked through a tree lined avenue it opened up into a fully functional, yet still immaculate garden. Complete with fruit trees and a circular pond in the middle of a maze. What a way to have your reception drinks and canapés.

The marquee, which was set just outside of the garden walls, looked out on to Yorkshire countryside. Ellen (of LND Events) who was Tori and Neil’s wedding planner, had done an amazing job of styling the wedding, and the marquee looked absolutely fantastic! So many great details. As the sun set, the marquee was opened up, which bathed the inside in golden light. Despite the Autumn chill, it was great to see people outside enjoying the last of the sun.

Which brings us to the evening reception and the first dance. The guests gathered around the chequered dance floor and watched as Tori and Neil showed us some of their best moves. It wasn’t long before they were joined by their friends and family though. The slightly tipsy dancing is one of my favourite parts of the day.
