A Stancliffe Hall Wedding in Derbyshire
Back in May, I photographed Esther and Liam’s big day at this stunning Stancliffe Hall wedding in Derbyshire. It was one of the few weddings I do every year where I help out my friend, and talented photographer, Simon Bunney.
Sadly…at least for future couples wanting to get married, I think that Stancliffe Hall has now returned to being a private home rather than doubling as a wedding venue. I can totally understand, as it’s such a fantastic house. I definitely wouldn’t want to share it!
**UPDATE** Stancliffe Hall is now booking weddings again! It’s launch is this Sunday (5th March 2017), so if you’re looking for an exclusive wedding venue in Derbyshire, pop along. Their new website is now online, too >> http://www.stancliffehallweddings.com/
Having already photographed the best man’s wedding with Simon (and one of the usher’s too), it was a great wedding to be a part of, because we both knew plenty of the wedding guests already, which made for a great atmosphere. Everyone was already at ease with us and knew how we worked and the photographs really show that. It’s one of the things that couples who book me for their wedding like about how I work. It’s very relaxed and I’m sort of a special guest with a camera. It quickly does away with awkward poses and forced smiles as I’m walking round as people will more often than not stop me for a chat and then forget I’m even there. Letting me capture moments that really give you a sense of being there.
The day flew by, and before I knew it, we were packing up our gear and loading the cars. The end of a great day. One filled with laughter and some of the most emotional speeches I’ve photographed yet. Thanks to Esther and Liam for making us feel like one of the gang!
