Lauren & Joey
A Relaxed Winter Wedding in Nottinghamshire
Back in November last year, Lauren & Joey tied the knot at this beautiful farm house in Nottinghamshire. With a few mutual friends, I’d been recommended to them as a wedding photographer who focuses on capturing real moments, and this is exactly what they wanted. Their relaxed and fun-filled winter wedding was my last of 2018, and it was great to end the season with a bang. Literally! It’s always worth braving the cold for some fireworks to end a wedding!

I joined Lauren and her entourage in The Old Stables, which is now an incredible place to stay before your wedding. With a super fancy room for Lauren, and a huge room for all of her bridesmaids to stay in. From the sounds of things, they had an amazing night. Totally worth doing if you’re thinking of getting married here.
We then moved into one of the bedrooms in the main house to finish off the morning’s preparations, and it also gave Lauren a great view of the iconic driveway, so she could have a nosey at all the people arriving, and keep an eye out for Joey’s car.
The ceremony took place in The Gallery, which is the top floor of The Lower Barn, and this was where I found a slightly nervous, and very warm Joey. It may have been chilly outside, but the radiators were certainly doing their job indoors. From the looks of him, he forgot all about his nerves, and the rising temperature, when Lauren walked down the aisle.
In the afternoon, with everyone sat in the impressive Oak Hall, they had their wedding breakfast. Breaking with tradition and deciding not to have speeches, they instead took the time to work their way around the different tables, chatting to their family and friends. I love this idea!! Do things your way. Be you!
Later that evening, everyone braved the winter evening and Oooohd and Ahhhd at the amazing firework display, as Lauren & Joey huddled together with huge grins on their faces. A great way to finish off the day, and my 2018 wedding season.
