A Rustic Garden Wedding in Derbyshire

Meet Hannah and Ben. These guys got married last summer at St Mary’s church in Stretton near Burton-on-Trent. Their rustic garden wedding carried on later at Ben’s parent’s house, where they’d set-up a pretty impressive marquee. It almost looked like a little wedding village! I love people doing weddings their own way!

Hannah had rented out a little cottage in Repton to spend the night before and morning of her wedding. This can be a great idea to make your wedding morning extra special. Turn it into a bit of a holiday for your and your pals! Also means you don’t get home to a load of empty champagne glasses and half eaten croissants!

After officially tying the knot, they left the church as husband and wife, and Ben promptly took several handfuls of confetti directly to the face. Well, what else are friends for on your wedding day! We all made the short drive to Ben’s parents where, by listening to the comments as people arrived, their hard work was definitely appreciated! It looked fantastic!

From their first e-mails they’d said that the day was going to be laid back, and it totally was. The afternoon felt like a garden party with friends. It could’ve done with an appearance from the sun, but there’s never anything we can do about that. Such is the British summer! Hannah, Ben, it was great hanging out with you for the day, and it barely even felt like work at all!

Here are a few of the wonderful wedding suppliers who helped make the day the huge success it was.
Wedding dress by Brides and Gowns, hair & make-up by Kayleigh Read, flowers by The Blossom Tree, cake by Amerton Cakes, fantastic pizzas from The Rustic Crust, and finally, the ace marquee set-up by Buster Marquees.
