Your Grangefields Wedding Photographer

It’s no surprise that the team at Cripps & Co have added yet another fantastic wedding venue to their ranks. And Grangefields might just be my favourite of theirs. Is it because it’s 30 minutes from my house? I couldn’t possibly comment! Distance from my house aside, it’s honestly a bloody fab venue, and I love photographing weddings there.

It has so many great places for you and your guests to explore during the day, which means there’s plenty of opportunities for me to get those natural, relaxed photos that you’re after. And if the weather’s good, there’s a huge courtyard with lovely views over the Derbyshire countryside.

A Little More About Grangefields

As soon as your turn onto the long, winding driveway, it’s clear that you’re somewhere special. The amazing views, and the stunning Grangefields nestled at the bottom of the hill. This view changes with the seasons, and is one I always stop and take in for a minute or two.

The Ceremony Room

The main barn area is where most ceremonies take place. Though they also have the option for you to get married outside if you want to engage in a battle of nerves with the British weather! Known as the ‘Oak Room’, it has that lovely rustic feel, and can seat up to 150 of your nearest & dearest. It can get a little dark and moody down at the end where you get married, so it’s maybe worth thinking about extra lighting or candles or something. Want to make sure you’re putting the ring on the right finger. And on the right person!

The Reception Room

For your wedding meal, there’s the rustic/industrial vibe of the reception area, which is the biggest room of the venue, with room for 175 people to dine. And they get to watch their food being prepared with the uber-modern ‘show kitchen’ at the far end of the room. With one side of the room filled with windows, it makes this a great light room, which is obviously a big fave with us photographers! Just look at the gorgeous light on Nat in the photo below! *Chef’s kiss*

The Party

Your day will wrap up in style in the smaller party room of the venue. At this size, it makes it super easy to get a great atmosphere going in here. So whether you have a DJ, an acoustic duo, or a full 9-piece swing band, the place will fill with sound and if you have a dancey crowd, they’ll be well up for it!
