The Ashes Barns Wedding

The Ashes Barns Wedding Photographer

A Fun Wedding at The Ashes Barns in Staffordshire

As an Ashes Barns Wedding Photographer, capturing Abi and Matt’s beautiful day at The Ashes Barns in Staffordshire was an amazing experience. This stunning venue, with its rustic charm and sweeping countryside views, provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding full of warmth and laughter. From the tender glances shared during their vows to the slightly questionable shapes being pulled on the dance floor, every detail of Abi and Matt’s celebration was infused with joy, laughter, and love. Join me as I take you through some of the most memorable moments of their special day at this picturesque setting.

The Ashes is one of many brilliant Staffordshire venues I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at over the years. If you’re still in the early stages of planning, it’s worth taking a look at my page all about being a wedding photographer in Staffordshire, to get a feel for my work across the county. But for now, here are some of my favourites from Abi & Matt’s big day!

Getting Married at The Ashes Barns

The amazing countryside that surrounds it, the rustic ceremony barn, the on-site accommodation, the perfect lawn for photos and games, a huge reception barn, a prep room, a lake, I mean…what a list, right? Is this the perfect wedding venue? Might just be.

Rustic Staffordshire Wedding Venue

These two made the most of this incredible venue. With both of them able to get ready on-site at the prep room and the small cottage across the courtyard. It’s not often you’re able to both stay at a venue like this. And there’s also plenty of guest rooms too, so you can have your nearest and dearest close by. The courtyard between the two barns is a great place for your guests to mingle, and there’s also a beautiful gazebo with incredible views if you fancy getting away from the chaos with a few of your mates.

What Makes The Ashes Special

One thing to know if you’re considering The Ashes is that it’s a Grade II-listed venue. The barns date back to the 17th century, and that history really does come through in the fabric of the building. The West Barn, where ceremonies take place, has the kind of high ceilings, original stone walls and oak beams that no modern venue can replicate. Then the East Barn flips the mood entirely for the wedding breakfast and reception; the same warmth, but with a polished oak floor and enough space that the bar, the dancefloor and all of your guests can coexist without it ever feeling cramped. It’s a rare combination, and it makes your day flow really well, and is a fab backdrop for your wedding photos.
