Rebecca & John’s Wedding

Yeldersley Hall Wedding Photographer

Beuatiful Autumn Wedding in Derbyshire

I must have driven past Yeldersley Hall a hundred times over the years with it being so local to me, so I was quietly chuffed when Rebecca and John asked me to photograph their wedding there at the beginning of October last year. Not normally a month well known for it’s great weather but it was bright with lots of lovely high clouds giving us some fantastic light! A perfect day to become a Yeldersley Hall wedding photographer.

Wedding Guests Arriving at Yeldersley

Before I could set eyes on the venue though, I drove up to their home in Worksop where Rebecca and her bridesmaid were getting ready. Photographing the bridal preparations in the morning is one of my favourite parts of the day. Especially when there’s a beautiful ginger cat there!

Once Bex was in her dress, I set off down the motorway to Derby to meet up with John at Yeldersley Hall. It’s a great setting for a wedding, and as the wedding guests made their way through the grand arched entrance into the courtyard, I noticed that they agreed.

As the clock struck two, Rebecca arrived at the venue and with a big smile on her face, walked down the aisle to marry John. After a lovely ceremony, they walked back down the aisle together and out into the courtyard to have all their family and friends throw little petals at them.

Wedding Speeches and a Ceilidh

After a few relaxed group shots and some natural portraits of just Rebecca and John, we returned to the guests for some high quality mingling. Then it was time for the wedding breakfast and the speeches. Keep your eyes out for the handmade sign one of the guests held up quite often during the speeches!

And so we came to the reception and the Ceilidh that they’d booked instead of a band. It was my first as a wedding photographer and made for such a great evening, getting everyone involved and dancing. You couldn’t walk past the dance floor without getting dragged in and flung around! Brilliant!
