Breadsall Priory Spring Wedding

One of Derbyshire’s Most Popular Wedding Venues
Gabriella & Antonio got married on a sunny Saturday in March earlier this year. They picked one of Derbyshire’s most iconic wedding venues, Breadsall Priory to play host to their morning’s preparations and their reception. With an impending move to the US, their wedding plans had to be brought forward and I’m so glad I was available to be their Breadsall Priory wedding photographer, to capture the bringing together of their family and friends from all over the world!
“Chris, such a great job you have done! We are incredibly happy with the photos! It has been a great pleasure to have you with us!”

Coming from Hungary and Spain, Gabriella and Antonio were never going to do things entirely by the book when it came to their wedding day. After getting ready with just a few close friends in a room at Breadsall Priory, Gabriella then arranged to meet Antonio in the grounds for a ‘First Look. It’s always good getting to photograph new trends and traditions at weddings, and this was a first for me!
Nottingham Council House Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was in the Member’s Lounge at the Nottingham Council house, so 5 of us piled into Antonio’s car and drove to Nottingham. The council house is a stunning building, and has several beautiful rooms to get married in. Arriving together meant that they were both able to greet their guests together, which is something I think brides miss out on. All the hugs, smiles, and pinched cheeks!
After the ceremony, I climbed aboard the coach with the guests, heading back to Breadsall for the reception. Despite it being March, the sun shone, which gave everyone a little time to enjoy the stunning gardens and scenery at the hotel.
Then as the light started to fade, the DJ fired up the music, and I left the happy couple dancing with their family and friends, celebrating their marriage, and doubling as a send off for their new life in America.
