A Fun Outdoor Wedding at Cheshire Woodland Weddings

A rifle range, archery, birds of prey, and Segways aren’t traditionally the most weddingy of things, but that’s why I loved photographing Sindhu & Suraj’s Cheshire Woodland Wedding as much as I did. Being a little less conventional than most, they wanted something different for their wedding, and this fantastic site at Cheshire Outdoors made for a fun-packed day for them and their guests. Feeling more like a giant family day out at times, even the showers couldn’t stop the smiles. If you want my one note from this day…everyone needs to have Segways at their wedding!

Getting Married at Cheshire Woodland Weddings

This unique, outdoorsy venue is perfect for couples who want their wedding day to be a little bit different. This pair wanted their family and friends to have a fun day out, playing on the different games, and enjoying the woodland setting. It’s not every day you get to see your parents ride a Segway in their fancy clothes! Not only did it give their guests a ton of activities to do during the day, it made for some great photos. Guaranteed their wedding album will be one of a kind.

Unusual Wedding Day Activities

As soon as the first guests walked through the gates, they were greeted by two large birds of prey. Right from the start it was clear they weren’t in for a typical wedding day. After the lovely woodland ceremony, just a short walk into the woods, the guests were back to the main area of the site where they split up to enjoy the different activities. Target practice with air rifles, an archery course, crazy golf, a fantastic Segway course, and ending with a falconry display. Not a moment to get bored, or for guests to stand around looking at their phone. A great way to keep your wedding day zipping along.

For the meal and party, things moved indoors to the huge party barn for the wedding meal. This is a great rustic space, complete with a bar, casual seating area, and a big dance floor. And they needed it tonight, as following the speeches, the Bollywood Dance Co took the reigns and got all the guest up for a fantastic dance-off. A perfect way to end this hugely entertaining wedding.
