Dodford Manor Wedding

A Stylish Wedding at Dodford Manor in Northamptonshire

Last year I made the short drive down in to Northamptonshire to shoot Nicole and Vish’s Dodford Manor wedding. This is a beautiful exclusive use wedding venue.

As I arrived at the venue, I saw a familiar face ushering people into the barn from the car park. It was Mike, whose wedding I photographed the year before. Small world! It’s great seeing people from previous weddings. It means there are a few people right from the start who are already relaxed around you. Everything gets better and easier when people start to relax!

After a quick chat with him, I went into the barn where the guests were mingling. Well, to be more precise, the guests were all hugging. This wedding was a massive hug-fest. Go and look at the photos and count the number of hugs!

After the ceremony, there was more hugging, obviously, followed by some impressive sleight of hand trickery by a magician that Nicole and Vish had hired to entertain the guests. And entertained they were. I don’t think I’ve heard quite as raucous a response to a magician before.

Soon it was time for the guests to make their way to the dining hall, and to check the Scrabble seating plan to find their seat and make themselves comfortable for the speeches. Which were lengthy, but hilarious. If you’re gonna make them long, you have to make them funny! Also, these guys score bonus points for having something Scrabble-based in their wedding.

And then it was onto the dancing. And, you know, probably some more hugging too.
