A Relaxed Family Wedding at Erasmus Darwin House in Lichfield

This was a lovely way to start off my 2022 wedding season, as Rosie and Christian have a daughter who’s just a few months older than ours. So I was excited when they asked me to photograph their wedding at Erasmus Darwin House in Lichfield. It’s been a new experience photographing weddings this year, seeing all of the kids and parents in a completely new light. (Recognising the symptoms of sleep deprivation is now one of my specialities!)

It’s also given a new perspective to how I approach shooting weddings. I’m more aware of the different family interactions that take place throughout the day, and how important these little moments are to those people. Yes, the wedding day is about the two of you, and celebrating a new chapter in your life together, but it’s also the joining of your two families, and it’s wonderful to be able to capture the start of this new, wider family.
