Fun-Filled Wedding at Hallingbury Manor
In April this year, Jill and Andy had their wedding at the rather lovely Great Hallingbury Manor in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire. There were tears and laughter aplenty!
I have Jill’s mum to thank for it all, as it was after a chat with her at a wedding fair last year that she told Jill to get in touch. Then, on one of their trips back from France, we sealed the deal over some drinks and a slew of bad jokes.
Then, last December, we met again for an engagement shoot around Matlock. Yes, it was cold. Yes, there were bad jokes. Yes, it was a brilliant afternoon. I knew their wedding was going to feel about as much like work as a massive lie in on a Sunday morning.
And I was right. Cut to the wedding day, and we arrive at the venue, to be greeted by Andy and his near permanent grin. It’s hard not to be happy around this guy!
The wedding was wonderful. We were both made about as welcome as I could imagine. On more than one occasion I felt like I should just down tools and enjoy the day with the guests! I must thank their families for that.
I should also mention that something strange happened during Andy’s speech. I kept getting things in my eye. Both eyes in fact! One of the most emotional speeches I’ve been witness to. Barely a dry eye in the house. Good job I had a camera to hide behind.
