Norton Fields Wedding
A Fun-Filled Wedding at Norton Fields
Katie & Chris tied the knot at St Michael’s Church in Appleby Magna, before taking their wedding celebrations down the road to Norton Fields in Warwickshire. When we first met up for a drink and a chat about me being their Norton Fields wedding photographer, it was pretty obvious that it was going to be an occasion not just full of love, but filled with fun and laughter. They’re definitely not a couple who take themselves too seriously, which was echoed in their family and friends. So there were plenty of hilarious moments for me to capture alongside all of the loving and tender ones.

Groom Prep at Home
Occasionally, when the stars align, I get to shoot both sides of the morning’s preparations. On their wedding day, I nipped round to Katie & Chris’s home, where Chris was getting ready with his groomsmen. It’s great to be able to have some photos from that part of the day for Katie to look back on. It’s one of the benefits of keeping things fairly local. If the venue was further away, I wouldn’t have been able to do this. Something to think about as you plan your wedding, and start working on the logistics!
Church Ceremony in Appleby Magna
This lovely village church was the setting for the wedding ceremony, and I arrived in time to capture photos of the guests all walking up the road from the local pub car park. Capturing moments like this is a big part in how I shoot weddings, as it helps me paint a more complete picture of their wedding day. Showing wider photos of the settings, and people moving within them are just as important as the closer photos focusing on emotion. And there was plenty of this during and after the ceremony, including a beautiful moment with Katie and their newborn baby.
Wedding Reception at Norton Fields Farm
This was my first time at Norton Fields, and it’s a fantastic venue for a reception. Set in the Leicestershire countryside, the Corbett family have done an outstanding job of converting their old corn sheds into a perfect setting for a wedding. It even has accommodation just next door, so at the end of an incredible, emotional, amazing day, you can stagger across the courtyard and pass out on your bed in no time!
It was here that the party really kicked off, with some hilarious speeches (spot the wig!), a groomsmen not realising the pile of cheese was actually the wedding cake, shots on the dance floor, and so many other funny moments for these folks to treasure and look back on. Hopefully the photographs captured not just how the day looked, but how it felt to be there, and that’s at the heart of my whole ethos!
