Sunny Wedding at Beeston Fields Walled Garden

Back in May, I found myself at the Walled Garden at Beeston Fields for Laura and Theo’s wedding. It’d been a few years since I’d photographed a wedding there, and it was good to be back. When the weather’s in a good mood, the walled garden is such a stunning venue! And after getting to know this pair in the run up to their wedding day, I knew it was going to be a super-relaxed, fun-filled day, with occasional happy tears. Nothing quite like being a Beeston Fields wedding photographer on a warm, sunny Summer’s day!

Laura spent the morning getting ready at the Beeston Fields Golf Club, which is just next door to the Walled Gardens. As in keeping with their whole ethos, it was very relaxed, with no fuss or stress. Just a handful of people sat around chatting, and looking forward to the day.

As the ceremony time approached, I moved to the walled garden as Theo was fixing his tie and button holes in between greeting guests and receiving big emotional hugs from his dad. Weddings are an emotional time, and it’s great to see people letting their emotions fly free!

I have to thank Theo’s dad, as I reckon he set the tone for the day with being so openly emotional. I think we had tears at almost every step of the way throughout the day, and despite it making for some wonderful photos and reactions from guests, it also just made the day feel special. Like somehow a little bit more love had been injected into things.

But the day wasn’t just spent wiping tears away, it was full of laughter, too. This pair don’t take life too seriously, and have fun in everything they do, so from the confetti tunnel aftermath, where folks spent a good 5 minutes picking pieces out of their mouths/clothes/hair, to the excellent cake-cutting faces pulled by Laura, it was a laugh a minute.

My day came to an end with a full dance floor, complete with Theo in sunglasses, and people getting hot and sweaty and busting out some serious moves! Even though it was still light outside! Hats off to everyone! And Laura, Theo, I hope the photos help you remember just what a great day we all had!
