Alison House Hotel Wedding
An emotional and fun wedding at Alison House in Belper, Derbyshire
Way back in February 2012, Liz and Matt booked me for their wedding at Alison House in Derbyshire. It was a long wait, but finally the day was here. And what a day it was!
These guys are absolutely besotted with each other! Such a joy to photograph two people who are so clearly and openly madly in love. Barely a moment passed where there wasn’t a look, hug or a kiss between them. Awwww!
The day wasn’t just these guys canoodling though. A whole wedding took place too. The Alison House Hotel is a lovely little venue tucked away near Matlock in Derbyshire and was the perfect setting!
With many of the guests coming from theatrical or performance backgrounds, this was always going to be a lively wedding, and they didn’t disappoint. Everywhere I looked were smiles and people cracking up in fits of laughter. Such a great day to be a part of.
And you can imagine what it was like when it came to the dancing! Liz and Matt did their thing in front of their guests, complete with spins and twists (and I’m sure I saw some Jazz Hands in there Matt) but then, on some secret cue, the parents and a few other couples whisked themselves on to the dancefloor and the first dance quickly turned into a 60’s indie-pop dance party!
As I left most of the guests dancing their little hearts out, I saw Liz and Matt taking another quiet moment outside, in the darkness, just looking up at the stars together. Did I hear someone say fairytale romance?
