Breadsall Priory Wedding

A Breadsall Priory Wedding in Derby
I’m still working my way through blogging all of my weddings from this year. Here’s one from June, way back in the summer. Jennifer and Michael’s lovely Breadsall Priory wedding in Derbyshire.
I started the day off at Jennifer’s parents house in Mapperley Village. All very calm and relaxed. No panicking. No chaos. No last minute disasters. Lots of smiles though. Even when the girls had to resort to the wedding dress instructions to help tie it up.
Jennifer and Mike got married in the Haslam Room at Breadsall Priory, right in front of a huge window which is a photographers dream. We were treated to huge swathes of that gorgeous natural light pouring into the room. As you can see in the photos, it really beats any kind of artificial light source.
After the ceremony, everybody moved to the patio for drinks. I was then tasked with persuading all of the ladies to move down onto the lawn for the group photos. Apparently high heels and a soft lawn don’t mix. We got everyone down there though. Eventually.
The evening saw the best of the weather and the guests were treated to some garden games and mini tournaments on the putting green. Luckily for me there were a couple of impressive Jenga tumbles. Including the father of the bride, despite his valiant attempts to hold it up.The day came to a close with a band made up of Mike’s old school friends. Once the first dance was over, the dance floor was packed! Probably the most packed dance floor I’ve seen this year! Definitely a great end to a great day.
