Ella & Ali’s Lichfield Wedding

Lichfield Wedding Photographer

A few days before Christmas last year, Ella and Ali stood in front of their family and friends, and tied the knot. In their search for a Lichfield wedding photographer, they found me online and got in touch. I had also photographed the wedding of two of their friends the previous year, so all of this, together with some fun Skype calls, lead to them asking me to photograph their big day. And what a big day it was! Hundreds of people joined them to celebrate their church wedding ceremony, followed by a huge reception at Whitemoor Lakes.

Getting Ready at Home

Ella started the day off at a local salon with her bridesmaids, before heading back to the family home to carry on getting ready. It’s always handy to have mum and dad close by to provide moral support…and a delicious cooked breakfast! The familiar surroundings of being at home whilst getting ready are a huge comfort. If you’re in the early stages of planning your wedding and wondering where to get ready…if doing it at home is an option, it gets a thumbs up from me!

Wedding at St Chad’s Church in Lichfield

With all of the guests seated inside, Ella arrived in the wedding car, giving her fancy cowboy boots a flash as she walked up the church path. Inside, Ali seemed calm as he waited for Ella to start her walk down the aisle. What he wasn’t expecting was a special recording of a song that Ella had sung to be playing as she walked down the aisle. The look on Ali’s mum’s face as she realised who was singing is priceless!

Reception at Whitemoor Lakes, Staffordshire

The reception was held at Whitemoor Lakes in Staffordshire. Usually an activity centre for schools and youth groups, today it was transformed into a wonderful Narnia-themed wedding venue. The wood panelling throughout, gives it a charming lodge-feel, which fitted perfectly with the time of year. The main hall looked incredible! Hats off to Ella and Ali and all their helpers who set it up, because it looked stunning! What a setting for your wedding breakfast! The day was topped off with a spot of open-mic, including Ella serenading her new husband. A pretty special way to end my 2019 wedding season!
