Thorpe Garden Wedding

Ella and Dean got in touch after being referred to me through a friend, and asked me to be their Thorpe Garden wedding photographer. At the time, Thorpe Garden was a relatively new wedding venue in Staffordshire, and us wedding photographers love shooting at new venues, so I was especially looking forward to their big day.

Nestled in a gorgeous walled-garden on the Thorpe Estate, the venue is a wonderful mix of old English charm, rustic elegance, and modern style. The huge handmade yurt makes an amazing ceremony venue, and has lovely views out over the garden. Whilst the contemporary reception room (which can also play host to smaller ceremonies) adds a great modern addition to the whole site. Ella and Dean live down south, as do most of their friends and family, and if they thought the venue was worth everyone travelling up to the Midlands for, then it must be good! Take their word for it!

A Glamorous Staffordshire Wedding

If you’re looking for a venue that’s a little bit special, Thorpe Garden has to be one for you to check out. Situated on the border of four counties (Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, and Warwickshire), it’s been in the same family since 1631, and in recent years they’ve partnered with the Cripps team to create an exceptional wedding venue. Stunning views are all around you, and it’s easily accessible from all over the country, making it a perfect choice if your nearest & dearest are spread all over the place.

Wooden Yurt for Rustic Ceremonies

The hand-crafted yurt, set in the middle of the historic Victorian walled-garden has to be one of the highlights of the venue, and if you like to mash-up your styles, then this place does it perfectly! The yurt is huge, and has a cosy snug to one side, if you fancy a sit down and a catch-up with friends, and a circular bar in a section on the other side. And the sides can be opened up in Summer, or left down in Winter, but as the end panels are all transparent, you get the gorgeous light and views whatever the time of year.
