Ettington Park Hotel Wedding

A Sunny Winter Wedding at Ettington Park Hotel
Vicki and Mike asked me to be their Ettington Park Hotel wedding photographer. A stunning venue in Warwickshire which was perfect for their beautiful winter wedding. Having a December wedding comes with a few gambles, but theirs paid off, as despite it being chilly, the skies were clear and the sun was out! And since when has a little bit of snow and ice on the ground ever stopped us from having a bloomin’ good time!

Bridal Prep at Ettington Park
Vicki was getting ready at Ettington Park, so I started the day with her and her little entourage. Mike was also getting ready in the hotel, which meant I was able to capture both sides of the morning. I always like being able to do this as it’s a part of the day that each half of the couple doesn’t get to see until after the wedding. Bridal prep is the norm, but I think it’s great that Vicki will be able to get a glimpse into how Mike’s morning was going, too.
St Nicholas’ Church in Henley in Arden
The wedding ceremony took place at St Nicholas’ Church in nearby Henley on Arden. Clearly the thaw hadn’t been as quick round these parts, as there was ice all over the place! And for those guests who went slip-sliding across it, I swear I didn’t see a thing! After a beautiful ceremony, and the confetti tunnel which followed, it was back in the cars and back over to Ettington Park.
Stunning Long Gallery Dining Wedding Breakfast
Mulled wine welcomed us as we shivered our way into the main reception room in the hotel. Champers may be the usual reception drink, but I don’t think there was a person in the room who didn’t appreciate the warming up! After we’d all regained feeling in our toes, it was time for the receiving line, as people made their way up to the Long Gallery for the wedding breakfast and speeches. This was originally the family museum, but these days is a wonderful setting for a wedding breakfast.
As the drinks flowed, and the sounds of people becoming increasingly merry, it was time for Vicki and Mike to take to the dancefloor, in front of the giant Christmas tree and have their first dance. Such a fab scene, it looked like something out of a Christmas movie! Soon the dancefloor was packed and people were getting into the band. A fitting end to the day! Vicki, Mike, I hope this is a nice reminder of the day for you. How quick does 6 months go!?
Thanks to the following folks for helping to make the day extra special!
