Hampton Court House Wedding
Beautiful Wedding at Hampton Court House in Surrey
In June this year, Carolyn and Dan asked me to be their Hampton Court House photographer for their Surrey wedding. As I often shoot weddings all over the country, we’d only spoken a couple of times via Skype. So I was really looking forward to getting to meet this fab pair in person! They wanted their wedding to be at a single venue, so there was no time wasted on travelling, and they made the most out of spending time with the ones they love the most!

My day started at their flat in Teddington, where Carolyn was enjoying her wedding morning with her parents, and closest friends. This is always a really important part of the wedding day for me, as it’s a chance for some of the key people to get to know me, and more importantly, feel comfortable while I’m making photographs of the wedding day.
At the venue I met the fabulous Claire Reynolds, wedding planner and designer extraordinaire! It always adds to the wedding day when you get to work alongside other talented folks that you get on with! I found Dan greeting his guests on the lawn outside the front of the house, and he seemed to be totally relaxed, with no signs of nerves at all. After a quick hello, I left him to his groom duties and carried on documenting the guests arriving.
It’s clear the pair of them wanted their wedding to be laid-back, and a lot of fun. And looking at all the smiles, laughter, and generally high levels of merriment, I reckon they succeeded. The day was filled with some lovely, tender family moments, and emotional yet funny speeches. Plus plenty of daft, drunken banter with their mates. The perfect balance for a wedding day!
After their first dance, some crazy dance floor moves with some of the evening buffet, the pair of them retired with a few of the groomsmen to the grounds to indulge in that age-old tradition of the bride and groom sharing a cigar under a tree by moonlight.
Carolyn, Dan, congratulations again, and I hope you’re looking forward to your first Christmas as husband and wife!
