Chesterfield Garden Wedding
A Marquee Garden Wedding in Chesterfield
Folks who know me will know I’m a sucker for our furry, four-legged friends. So when I arrived at Laura’s mum’s for her bridal prep to find it full of cats and dogs, my eyes lit up! For any wedding, one of the things I have my eye on during the day is the things that are important to the couple, so it was great to see how much these pets meant to Laura and Marcus. It meant I was able to capture some fab moments between the family and their beloved animals. A great way to start this wonderful marquee garden wedding in Chesterfield.

Church Ceremony in Brampton, Derbyshire
After the morning’s preparations (and plenty of dog and cat cuddles) my next stop was St Thomas’s Church in Brampton, Derbyshire. Now, usually it’s just the bride that makes an entrance at the church, but today Marcus had his time to shine as he arrived on a tractor! (It’s ok, he’s a farmer, he knows what he’s doing.) Not to be outdone, Laura then turned up outside the church in a beautiful old Bentley, which belongs to a friend of the family, and has been lovingly restored! So much nicer than those new cars that are just built in the style of old ones. This was the real deal! After the knot was tied, the rings were safely on fingers, and the ink was drying on the register, it was off to Marcus’ family home for the wedding reception!
Private Garden Wedding Reception
Getting married is such a personal thing, and I love it when people can use a venue that has a special meaning to them. Marcus’ parents have a beautiful country house with a stunning tiered garden, which was a perfect place to put up a marquee and have a wedding reception! Plenty of space for the kids (and dog) to run around, some areas of quiet sanctuary for those seeking peace, and room, of course, for the evenings hog roast! The guests were spoiled with some fantastic music from The Bluebirds and some top tunes from Paul at Spirits High Events throughout the afternoon and evening. Even Laura and Marcus’ dog joined in on the dance floor!
Laura, Marcus, I hope you’ve had a great time since the wedding, and that this is a lovely look back at a few of the day’s highlights!
