Relaxed Summer Wedding in Nottinghamshire

Meet Fran and Paul. This happy looking pair were married back in July at a wonderfully remote country farm in Nottinghamshire. A beautiful venue for a beautiful wedding!

I met Fran at the Nottingham Belfry where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. A hurricane of lipstick, laughter and hairspray was what greeted me as I walked in. Ah well, you can never have too much hairspray. Am I right!?

I’d been warned that Fran would be late, but refused to believe it as these guys were ORGANISED! However, it seems tradition was to be the victor as the warnings from Paul rang true. When I caught up with Paul, not a flicker of surprise crossed his face when I told him.

The main thing is that she got there in the end, and they were married amidst laughter and a few happy tears. No. Not mine! I think they were Paul’s actually.

The plan had been for everyone to gather in the courtyard to enjoy drinks and some of the English summertime. Well, as we should all know by now, most of the English summer is enjoyed from indoors or under a brolly! It gave us a brief dry spell for confetti though. Thanks weather.

Before the wedding breakfast were the speeches. I could tell you about them, but the internet’s not big enough. Paul’s speech alone probably clocked in at 45 minutes. We forgive him though, as it was massively entertaining! After food there was the wedding quiz, some drinking, more laughter and then the first dance. Just look at ’em! Awww.
